Tecnik dishwasher problems can include:

Tecnik dishwasher won’t start

If your appliance won’t start up this is often an issue with the electricity supply. It could be a faulty fuse, defective power socket, or problems with the programme buttons. Other things to consider are a door that won’t close securely, a water inlet valve that could be malfunctioning, or a blocked strainer in the water intake hose.

Tecnik dishwasher not draining

The most common problems here are a defective drain pump, blocked filters, or an obstructed or damaged drain hose. If the drain hose is incorrectly fitted this will also cause problems with drainage. If your dishwasher is connected to the sink waste this should also be checked for blockages.

If this is happening then the anti-flood switch will have been activated resulting in water leaking into the base of your dishwasher. Other reasons can be related to the drain hose being below the water level, or a faulty flow meter.

Tecnik dishwasher not cleaning

Your dishes won’t be clean at the end of the wash programme if there’s a lack of hot water. This could be caused by a faulty heating element or thermostat. (see below under Tecnik dishwasher not heating water).

Other issues can be with the spray arms that can become obstructed, a blocked filter, a defective water inlet valve, or a broken soap dispenser.

Tecnik dishwasher is noisy

Tecnik dishwasher faults can also cause your dishwasher to become noisy. Components that need to be investigated include the wash arm seal or bearing ring. These parts are usually made of plastic and can become loose or worn, resulting in the spray arm not functioning properly and making a noise.

A buzzing noise is often hard when the water is being forced down the drain and isn’t normally a cause for concern. A very loud noise indicates an issue with the pump impeller, and a grinding noise points to foreign objects wedged in the pump itself.

A knocking noise could be caused by the spray arm hitting the utensils, or the water jets striking the washing tank if there’s a low load.

Tecnik dishwasher blocked

If your dishwasher appears to have a blockage this will often be from food residues that get caught in the filters leading to an obstruction in the pump, resulting in your appliance being unable to drain. Left unattended this can cause damage to the impeller and the pump.

Tecnik dishwasher not heating water

A faulty heating element or thermostat are typically the causes for the water not heating. The heating element or flow-through heater controls the water temperature and helps in the drying process. This can burn out or suffer from a wiring fault, and will need replacing.

The job of the thermostat is to regulate the water temperature during the wash programme. If this component is faulty your dishwasher will be unable to keep the water at the required temperature and therefore will need to book a trusted appliance repair service.
